About Yachad BBG #159
Our chapter was founded in 2017 by a few Jewish teenagers in the D.C. area and has grown to over 50 members! We are now based in the Washington/Chevy Chase area but we have members who live throughout the DMV.

We chose to name our chapter Yachad, which means together in Hebrew because we thought it shows how in Yachad, we will always be there for each other whether we are physically together or miles apart because our friendships and bonds will never be broken.

More About Us
Yachad is a chapter of the BBGs, the female sect of B'nai Brith Youth Organization. In Yachad, we are a group of 8th to 12th-grade Jewish girls and we focus on sisterhood, Judaism, community service, and more.
Every weekend throughout the school year, we, as a chapter, get together at someone's house or somewhere else, for member made programs. Our programs range from fundraisers to sleepovers to yoga. We also have meetings about once a month to talk about the upcoming and past weeks, and other topics that need to be discussed.
Our girls run this chapter and want to see in continue to flourish. Members have built lasting relationships that have kept Yachad so strong. The girls in our chapter are no longer only friends, but we are family, and to many girls, Yachad has become a home away from home.
Chapter Board
Our calendar in Yachad is based on the school year with programs beginning in September and ending in June. Every year is split into 2 terms where the board changes. We have elections at the beginning of every term where members can run for the position of their choice. Running for a board position is a great opportunity to give back to the chapter and make even more friends from around the council.
