Slang and Abbreviations:

B’nai B’rith Youth Organization (BBYO): Jewish youth organization composed of chapters

BBG: B’nai B’rith Girl, the female subcategory of BBYO

AZA: Aleph Zadik Aleph, the male subcategory of BBYO

FT: Fall term, the first half of the year with newly elected board members

ST: Spring term, the second half of the year with newly elected board members

MIT: Member in training

Chair: Assistant to a board member after being selected by turning in an application

Caucus: The process in which someone declares to the N’siah of the chapter that they are running for a given board position
-
States: The N’siah finishes their term and inducts the new board, speeches are given and the program is planned around the N’siah

Lives: The seniors in a chapter hand down their BBYO merch/candles and reflect on their time in the chapter

Inductions: The official process becoming a member of a chapter, council or region

NRE: Northern Region East, consisting of DC Council, Baltimore Council, and NoVA Council

I$F: International Service Fund, raises money for BBYO scholarships

Good and Welfare: A designated time for each BBG to share their issues or feelings uninterrupted, everything said is confidential
